Public Policy Breakfast | Administrators Forum 2019
HOW POLICY CHANGE WORKS
If you want to support policy change, a good place to start is by understanding how policymakers, technical experts, citizens and other stakeholders interact with and shape public policy.
At this forum, we will review our local legislative process from start to finish with a panel to include administrators and elected officials from the City of Winchester, Frederick County, and Clarke County. Presenters include Eden Freeman, Winchester City Manager, Bill Wiley, City Council member, Kris Tierney, Frederick County Administrator, Bob Wells, member Frederick County Board of Supervisors.
At the end of this presentation, you will be better equipped to:
- Increased knowledge about the public policy development process in your jurisdiction.
- Navigate the stages of public policy from issue identification to solutions delivery and evaluation.
- Translate policy into action and develop the skills necessary to contribute to future public policy design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
