The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley - New Exhibit Explores Native American Art;  explores artists and their art across centuries; also includes furs animal skins and decorations.  Exhibit runs through July 22, 2018.

Long Branch Plantation announces a  lecture series which mixes history, current affairs, visual arts and business.  All Long Branch Lecture Series talks begin at 5:30 p.m. with half hour of socializing and light hors d'oeuvres before the presentations at 6 p.m.  Tickets are $25 each for event or $80 for the series.  For more information and a list of speakers and topics see Winchester Star article on February 20, 2018 

Kiwanis Club of Old Town presented a contribution of $1,000 to Captain Kelly Durant of the Winchester Salvation Army to be used as a kitchen fund for the Salvation Army Shelter of Winchester/Frederick County.  (Information taken from Winchester Star Local News article on February 21, 2018.)

Belk marks 130th anniversary with $12,000 gift to Salvation Army. Belk:  Project Hometown is donating $10,000 to remodel a room in the Salvation Army's family shelter and $2,000 for towels, sheets and other essentials.  (Information taken from Winchester Star Community News on February 21, 2018.) 

Lord Fairfax Community College -  Commercial Driver's License (CDL) students took advantage of a newly acquired Advanced Training Systems Truck Simulator in their classroom.  The simulator provides real-life situations to the driver of a semi-truck.  It includes everything a real truck has, including air brakes, emergency signals and a clutch.  For more information, see Winchester Star on February 22, 2018.

iHeart Radio personality Scott Bradley celebrates 42 years in radio.  The majority of his time in radio has been spent in Winchester's iHeartMedia stations.  Some of the perks of his life's adventure, he said is working with local nonprofit groups to raise money for the community and getting free concert tickets and meeting the musicians whose songs fill the airwaves.  (Information taken from Winchester Star on February 23, 2018).
