2025 Election Results

Democrat and former Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger has been elected Virginia’s first woman Governor, with Democrat State Senator Ghazala Hashmi elected Lieutenant Governor — making her the nation’s first Muslim woman to hold statewide office — and former Democrat Delegate Jay Jones elected Attorney General.

At the state level, both local delegates — Republican Del. Delores Oates of District 31 and Republican Del. Bill Wiley of District 32 — were reelected to the Virginia House of Delegates.

Democrats collectively picked up 13 seats in the House of Delegates giving them a comfortable 65-35 majority in the state’s lower chamber. State Senate democrats were not up for election this cycle and will carry forward their 21-19 majority in the state’s upper legislative chamber.

In Frederick County, Gary Oates won the county’s only contested Board of Supervisors race, while incumbents Robert Liero (Shawnee District) and Michael Guevremont (Red Bud District) were elected without opposition. For the Frederick County School Board, Patrick North won the Shawnee District seat, and Mike Procuk was elected to represent the Red Bud District. Marina Caruso (Gainesboro District) and Joe Moran (Stonewall District) were also elected unopposed.

In Winchester, Ann Burkholder was reelected as Commissioner of the Revenue, Heather Hovermale won another term as Commonwealth’s Attorney, and William Sales secured his first full term as Sheriff. Greg Price was elected as the city’s new Treasurer, succeeding longtime officeholder Jeff Barbour.

In Clarke County, Mike Sipe retained his seat on the School Board representing the Buckmarsh District, while former Boyce Mayor Steve Hott was elected to the Boyce Town Council. Additional write-in candidates were elected to fill other council and recorder positions, with final results pending certification.
