Habitat reaches out with builds  The local chapter of Habitat for Humanity broke ground on two houses and completed several community projects on Saturday morning during the nonprofit group's "Rock the Block."  The event began with a ceremony at 321 and 323 Highland Avenues.  Each address is the future site of a two-story home--one for the Edwards family and one for the Scott family.  (For more information see The Winchester Star article on July 9, 2018.)  

A legacy of creativity.  99-year-old veteran shares his artwork.
Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury (SVWC) invities the public to a new art show featuring the work of resident Wil Pieper.  The opening reception will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 13th in the Lawrence Gallery at SVWC.  The exhibit can be viewed any day between 9 a.m. and 7p.m.  The artwork will be on display until September 5, 2018.  It features paintings, stained-glass pieces and carvings.
