Small crowd attended the public informational session on possible tax billing changes for personal property tax on cars, trucks, motorcycles, trailers, recreational vehicles or bus registered with the city.  Winchester Commissioner of Revenue Ann To Burkholder and Treasurer Jeffrey L. Barbour shared information and sought feedback on their proposal to switch the city's personal property tax billing process to a standardized annual cycle, replacing the system that bills a person on the anniversary of their vehicle's purchase.  (See The Winchester Star on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 for more information.)

Four James Wood students take top honors at state competition.  Four students from James Wood High School are state finalists after wining first place at the Health Occupations Students of America, or HOSA state competition earlier this month.  They won for their awareness campaign on the local opioid epidemic.  The group will now compete in the national competition in Texas this June.  (See The Winchester Star article of Thursday, March 29, 2018.).
