be the “Spotlight Business” which will enable you, free of charge, to have a

•Business After Hours - A dynamic monthly networking opportunity in a low pressure, professional setting each month to establish new business contacts. Chamber Members tend to do business with and promote fellow Chamber Members; therefore we provide the opportunity to meet and inform your colleagues of your business. If they don’t know what you do, they can’t help promote you! Members are welcome to host either the Business & Breakfast or the Business after Hours, and you can make plans to do that by calling the Chamber Office.

•Advocacy – Many issues challenge the businesses within our region. We monitor issues that could impact businesses and provide ongoing information to keep you, as a business person, informed about how to vote on an issue and where to go to make your opinions known.
•Networking – Networking is a major function within the Chamber. Business leaders know that it is vital to establish relationships on a solid foundation before they expect to derive any benefit from just passing business cards. Networking is a way to build trust, and become a key resource for your clients and customers. The Chamber believes that Networking is at the heart of developing those long lasting relationships needed for you to be successful business.
•Information – Chambers have long been considered an information resource within their communities. Since 1917, that has been the case for the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber. Through many name changes, as our service area has grown, we strive daily to keep up to date information and resources about our community. We maintain an extensive database of business members and services offered by them. We keep economic data as well as contact information to local governmental agencies.
•Education – Our membership comprises of about 80% small businesses with 25 or fewer employees. Often they do not have the resources to provide training. Through strategic partnerships such as the SBDC, and providers within our membership, we offer on going education opportunities which will support their growth and development. Examples are how to use Social Networking, Effective Business Networking, Retailing from the floor up, just to name a few.
