Ribbon Cutting at Bistro Room @ Bright Box Theater
Join us as we welcome the Bistro Room at Bright Box to the community!
On September 8, Bright Box will open its Bistro Room for lunch. Already recognized as one of the top 50 small music venues in America, Bright Box aims to further create an amazing experience for all the senses. Offered for in-house dining as well as take-out, their lunch menu will focus on fresh, home-made foods with local flare.
The Bistro Room is located inside the entertainment and private events venue in downtown Winchester on the Walking Mall, at 15 N. Loudoun St. Lined with vintage communcation equipment, colorful murals, and classic records, the Bistro Room will accomodate around 40 people, with additional seats available on the patio out front. Lunchers will enjoy music recordings from previous Bright Box shows, and artists that are soon to grace the venue’s stage.
To accomodate the new Bistro Room Executive Chef Jessamy Oxley and Dine One-One business owner/Chef Patrick Evans made dramatic improvements to the Bright Box kitchen. New equipment and a better layout of the space provide for fast and efficient service even with menu items being made in-house. A new herb garden located behind the venue will allow Chef Oxley to add home-grown flourishes to her dishes.
The lunch menu will include a variety of soups, sandwiches, salads, and sides.
With the warm weather of early September, the first featured soup will be a refreshing Watermelon Mint Gazpacho.
Hot sandwiches on the menu will include the Meatball Panini, Chicken Waldorf Sandwich, and homemade Pimento Grilled Cheese. And the hearty Caprese Portabello Mushroom Burger and a made-from-scratch Black Bean Burger are sure to satisfy veggie lovers and carnivores alike.
For a filling-but-more-health-conscious meal Chef Oxley has crafted creative salads and bowls. These include items like the Acai Bowl, Smoked Duck Salad, Quinoa Fiesta Bowl (with your choice of chicken, steak, or tofu), Shenandoah Salad, Quinoa Butter Lettuce Bowl, and Kale Caesar Salad. Many of these can also be served as a wrap.
Side items include Jalapeno Bacon Mac & Cheese, homemade Bread & Butter pickles with Cheddar Cheese and Shawnee Springs Pepper Jelly, Baked Polenta Fries, fresh Cucumber Salad, and Route 11 Chips.
To wash it all down, a pour-your-own tea and lemonade station will be set up. Beer, wine, locally-distilled liquors, and soft drinks will be available, as well. Chef Oxley will be whipping up fun and tasty batches of Bubble Tea, too, with fresh-brewed tea, local and seasonal ingredients, and tapioca pearls.
Menu items range from $9 - $13. Lunch will be available for sit-down or carry-out, and hungry patrons will be able to call in their order and get a text when it’s ready. Reservations of 10 people or more can use the upstairs Out of the Box Room free of charge as long as each guest is ordering lunch. Companies are invited to hold their business luncheons at Bright Box.
The Bistro Room will be open from 11am - 4pm, Wednesdays through Sundays.
The opening of the bistro room on September 8 will coincide with the roll out of Bright Box’s new Show Menu and Private Party Menu. Also designed by Chef Oxley, patrons can expect more creative and delicious offerings. The focus on locally sourced ingredients for foods aligns with Bright Box’s bar offerings of local craft beers and locally-distilled craft liquors. Of the new menus and Bistro Room Bright Box owner Marilyn Finnemore says, “this will give us a chance to better cater to private parties, give our guests a great experience, and even let people buy upcoming events tickets during the day.”
Whether you’re coming to Bright Box during the day or at night, be sure to bring your appetite.
